Gray squirrels are a familiar sight. We see them eating everything from birdseed to tomatoes in our backyard, tight-roping power lines across suburban streets and foraging for food in the woodlands that blanket much of the state.
In fact, gray squirrels are so common it’s easy to overlook the fact that each day they are threatened by a host of animals ready to make a meal of them.
