Sequatchie Valley Institute Hosts Spring Wildflower Hikes

Through the forest at Sequatchie Valley Institute

Sunday March 29 & Saturday April 11

Get ready for an unforgettable experience in the heart of nature! Discover the beauty of the ancient forest as it comes alive with ragwort, buckeye, bloodroot, trout lily, trilliums, redbuds, and more.

Join us for hikes led by local naturalists, foresters, and ethnobotanists. Marvel at towering boulders and tiny blooms. The hike will last for 2-3 hours below the bluffs. A more rugged hike will continue on for up to 2 more hours to explore hidden treasures.

Come prepared with long pants, hat, sturdy shoes, and water. Kids welcome! No pets. Arrive from 10:30-11:30 CT latest for registration and shuttle to the off-grid solar SVI Center, where the hike begins at 12 CT. Before the hike, visit Liquidambar Gallery, featuring work by local artists. Bring a picnic and snacks! We’ll provide herb tea. We are 45 minutes from Chattanooga between Dunlap and Whitwell, 1233 Cartwright Loop, Whitwell, TN
