Saving Forests for Climate in Whites Creek Gorge

Portions of a stunning gorge in eastern Tennessee are now permanently protected, thanks to a grant from the Open Space Institute’s Appalachian Landscapes Protection Fund and the TennGreen Land Conservancy. Whites Creek Gorge encompasses pristine forests for carbon emission storage and provides habitat for sensitive and threatened species including the eastern hellbender salamander.
