Autumn is truly here now! The Valley woodlands are blazing with color and we are being blessed with beautiful cool weather—perfect for hiking through the woods. At Sequatchie Valley Institute (SVI), we have finished clearing our two miles of marked Nature Trails and revising our Nature Trail Guides, with lots of information on the plants, trees, geology, and history of the area. The trails are suitable for all ages, with short-cuts in case you tire! We are open on weekends, from 11-4 (CST), for hikers, and on other days by arrangement (call Carol at 404-698-5444). Groups are always welcome. We can also arrange guided hikes-contact us for information. Our Art Gallery is just across the creek and is open on weekends with lots of work by local artists— fun to visit and great gift ideas—we love visitors! Please mark your calendars for our yearly Christmas Reception, December 14-15. SVI is located on Cartwright Loop, 7 miles south of Dunlap. SVI is a non-profit educational organization emphasizing the environment and sustainable living.

The Sequatchie Valley Institute offers opportunities to experience and learn about living in harmony with nature by providing:
