Since 1987, the Land Trust of North Alabama has preserved over 10,000 acres in seven counties and developed over 80 miles of public trails. They recently announced the acquisition of two new tracts in the Huntsville area:
A 21-acre parcel located on Drake Mountain.
Two adjoining tracts totaling 21 acres which expand the Wade Mountain Nature Preserve.
