On a recent warm fall day, I visited a popular overlook near my house. Anytime I stepped into a sunny area, I was immediately swarmed by what appeared to be ladybugs. They were actually alighting on me and felt as though they were biting. Turns out it’s more of a pinch. I soon figured out that these were not the traditional ladybugs, but rather Asian lady beetles, which tend to be more orange in color and larger than native ladybugs. This swarming behavior is common in the fall.
