eBird in Action: Protecting Longleaf Pine Habitat

As a partner in the Land Trust Bird Conservation Initiative’s Southeastern Burning for Birds Collaborative, Aiken Land Conservancy facilitates several prescribed burns each year in longleaf pine habitats on conserved lands. After burns, ALC visits project sites to monitor target bird species, using eBird to document observations—just one of the many ways the land trust uses leverages eBird in its conservation work.

Bill Extending Scenic River Protections to Most of Duck, Buffalo Rivers Moves Forward

Eagle Pass Project Donates Stunning Rails-to-Trails Connection Along Cumberland River

TennGreen has donated the Eagle Pass Trail to Ashland City to support the advancement of the Cumberland River Bicentennial Trail.

This land was once part of the Tennessee Central Railroad and now offers scenic views along the Cumberland River, with routes perfect for walking, biking, and birdwatching. The Eagle Pass segment is an important link in the rail-trail, which is part of a proposed regional greenway corridor.
